I Just Want Out Fast. {138.}

Radhasoami!
****

This life seems got not of my asking
I withdraw from it into my own being.

I seek to be neither beggar nor king
Evolved beyond need of thought, emotion, talking, doing.

My best hours are spent but in meditating
Deaf to the world, hearing celestial bells ringing.

Nothing worthwhile has ever come free or easy
Redemption needs deep faith, perseverance bred of sincerity.

Life is a nightmare that cannot long last
Help me Lord, I just want out fast!

Satsangis: Eat, Drink, Talk Less.
****

Satsangiyon ko badi hoshiyari rakhni chahiye. Thoda khana, thoda peena, kam bolna, issey parmarath mein tarakki hogi.”

---- Param Guru Maharaj Saheb Ji; Bachan Part II, No. 115, Page 117.

Its simple translation into English may be rendered as follows:
“Satsangis ought to keep constant guard. Eating less, drinking less, talking little, these are conducive to spiritual progress.”

Silence on Way to Satsang.
****

“A very important matter has to be put before you and it is that you come to Satsang daily and on the way and also on reaching here till the Satsang begins you continuously remain talking amongst yourselves. You may yourself say what benefit can be derived from Satsang in such a state of affairs. You should not, while coming to Satsang, talk amongst yourselves on the way, or at least after entering the Satsang compound you should remain quiet. The pucca roads around the Satsang platform are all included in the compound and within the environment everyone should try to remain silent. By doing so, you can do Sumiran at least during the time you remain quiet and can bring with you proper atmosphere which will help you in deriving benefit from Satsang. You import here in doing so a sense of reverence and spirituality and will take with you the best results of that atmosphere, ...”

Discernible Benefits of Talking Less. {50.}

****
Radhasoami!

Param Guru Huzur Mehta Ji Maharaj
had once Reminded Satsangis that M. K. Gandhi
used to observe a weekly Maun,
or day of silence,
when he wouldn’t talk to anyone at all.

The habit of talking less
has several advantages
that we ought to consider.

One saves energy.
One remains serene.
One observes, thinks, understands more.

In a lighter vein,
if one talks less,
one is less likely
to make a fool of oneself,
and people are apt to respect you more
if you are a taciturn person,
rather than a chatterbox.

If you talk less,
your words are likely to be
more believed in and
have a greater impact than otherwise.

Moreover, talking less helps oneself
to remain collected,
enables a quicker withdrawal
of the sense organs,
and facilitates an internal ascent
of the surat or soul during meditation.

Talking less helps one remain
constantly internally attuned to the Lord.

As the Paath or hymn lines describe
the ideal state for us:
Moha na byape, jag nahin phansayi,
Rahe surat nirmal Guru satha,
Shabd mile rahe Charnan matha
, ...”

That is,
“Attachment doesn’t work, the world doesn’t entangle,
The soul remains pure with the Master,
With one’s forehead at the Lotus Feet, one attains the Word.”
